Isabela Day Tour
Discover the most rustic inhabited island of the archipelago
Itinerary
Departure time: 7 am
Arrival: approximately 9 am
Although Isabela is the largest Galapagos island its town, Puerto Villamil, is much smaller than Puerto Ayora. It is located right on the beach edge and some of the streets are still made of sand.
You will leave from the dock at 7 am in a ferry speed boat which approximately takes 2 hours to arrive at Puerto Villamil in Isabela. After leaving your luggage at the hotel, you will begin exploring the island and will be taken to the Giant Tortoise breeding centre. There, you will learn about the tortoises, as well as their predators and the threats to their conservation. Afterwards, you will take a walk through the wetlands, where you will be able to see different species of birds and might be lucky and spot some flamingos.
After your lunch break, you will explore the bay kayaking. You can also go for a swim and snorkel to discover the underwater world. Then, what better way to end the day than watching the sunset on the beach?
Tour includes: lunch, snacks, bilingual naturalist guide (English/Spanish)
