What makes the Galapagos Islands such a unique tourism destination?
World famous for providing the inspiration for Charles Darwins work on evolution theory, the Galapagos Islands are a touristic destination that draws in people who are interested in its unique ecosystems and spectacular flaura and fauna.
The endemic giant tortoises, marine and land iguanas as well as the iconic blue footed boobies have become particularly popular amongst tourists.
The islands, that were born from volcanic activity as they emerged from the Pacific Ocean, also offer a great variety of landscapes: Lava fields, lush highlands, sandy beaches and a rich underwater world.
What to see and do
The Galapagos archipelago consists of 13 big islands and around 107 islets, out of which four are populated.
Two of these islands have a National airport, Santa Cruz and San Cristobal.
You can only stay on the populated islands, which are interconnected by ferry lines.
These islands offer various touristic activities, such as Natural untouched beaches, snorkeling and kayak tours, watching animals, bike tours,
hikes, diving, science centers, restaurants, etc.
In order to visit the uninhabited islands,
you can either board a cruise ship, or go on a day tour.

Best time to travel
On Galapagos, there is a hot and rainy season and a colder and rather dry season. There is no “best” time per se, as each period has its perks. The different species of animals also have their distinct mating and breeding seasons. Finally, there will be something special to admire all year round. Even during the “cold” season, the air and water temperature is still appropriate for beach and water activities on most days.
Depending on which type of activities you prefer and which animals you would like to get the chance to admire, we can provide you with support in finding the right time to travel. But even if you’re restricted in choosing the dates, we will most likely be able to find a solution that fits.
